My 2nd pie is the pepper steak @ byron Bay Pie Shop, i love this one cause they use a wholemeal pastry which taste unreal. Over the years I have concluded that Clarkes Pies from Mortlake were the best high volume pie producer of all time, until Patties tookover and closed them down......Such a waste. These days, the best pies you can put in your mouth come from the Lotus Ocean Bakery in Yarraville. Its such a shame its 1.5 hours from my house, but after 20 years rating pies, they are a perfect 10 out of ten. For many years I have searched victoria for the best pie. Their free pie offer is a good deal too for the budget conscious. Just had one of their Jolly Jumbuck pies as a quick (lazy) meal last night. Lots of lovely chunky pieces of lamb.
