“Hey, do you wanna go to Spain?” J asked me about three weeks ago.
“Yeah, all right,” I said. “When shall we go?”
“How about May?”

And so it was that we came to plan a last minute trip to Europe. As you do. And it’s less than 3 weeks away now!

So, gentle readers: where shall I eat? We’re spending a few days each in Barcelona, Seville, Granada and San Sebastian; then finishing up with two days in Paris, just because it doesn’t seem right to fly all the way over there wihout squeezing in some Paris-time.

Your recs, por favor!

If your budget extends that far and you can get a booking, Arzak in San Sebastian is a wonderful experience. Short of that, a bit of a Pinxtos crawl around the old town is fun.
I wish I could remember some of the great places I ate at in Seville and Granada. I’ll have to take better notes next time, but you wont have trouble finding good food there.

Years ago I went to a great place in La Boqueria market off Las Ramblas in Barcelona and it was the best food experience of my trip. I wrote a nostalgic blog post about it last year and turns out it’s still there. Could be worth a try? (It’s just a cheap place that serves simple grilled calamari and vegies at a bar.) Would be interesting to know whether it’s still good in real life or only in my memory!

Pretty much anywhere in Granada. Most bars there serve free (& often delicious) tapas as long as you are eating. I could live in that city!
